Ben is at home, celebrating Kevin's birthday.

My brother Kev turned 27 yesterday and we had a little get together at the pad to celebrate.

They had a home poker game that lasted late into the night.

Ben is spotlighting.

My new pickup:  The Air Jordan XII Retro in the classic White/Varsity Red colorway as worn by Mike himself in 1996-1997.  (Thank you Eastbay 30% off and Damon for the giftcard!)

I used a LED flashlight to try and create a spotlighting effect on the shoe.

Kinda cool effect, I hope.

The 5D Mark II and 24-70L were used at ISO 50, f/15-22 and with exposures of up to 20 seconds.

Ben is DIY: Headlight restoration.

The X5 is now 9 years old and it spends most of it's time outside in the sun.

The UV rays of the Sun causes damage to lots of parts of the car, basically everything that is exposed from the tires, to the paint to the headlight lenses.  The headlight lenses on our 2001 BMW X5 equipped with the optional bi-xenon (HID) headlights are plastic.  Plastic headlights are notorious for yellowing and getting cloudy when exposed to too much sunlight.  Our X5, though taken care of and cleaned often, is no stranger to this.

Basically the outer layer of the plastic gets damaged, so in order to remove this damage you must remove the outer most layer.  To do this you must use some sort of abrasive, in my case: sandpaper (400, 1000 and 2000 grit wet-sand paper), rubbing compound, plastic cleaner and polish.  I did the sanding by hand and started with the most aggressive grit.  I then followed with several passes of the Porter Cable random orbrital polisher with the different liquid cleaners and compounds.

Looks OK, I think.  However to do the best job I would want to take the headlight off the car and do a much more aggressive sanding.

Ben is at the Blueprint 3 tour.

Jed and I (and the homie Ru and his girl, who bought my extra 2 tickets) went to the Staples Center in LA to FINALLY see Jay-Z's Blueprint 3 tour.  I had bought 4 tickets in section 110.

The day started well enough with a four hour (yes, four hour) drive to Downtown LA from San Diego.

The Staples Center is a great venue for concerts, it has easy parking access and great amenities inside the arena.

Trey Songz and Young Jeezy were the "openers" on his tour.

Memphis Bleek, Swizz Beats and Ice Cube showed up as well!

I honestly have no words how to explain how it felt to finally see Jay-Z live.

He is the best rapper of all time, IMHO.

Here is a photo recap of the show.  Kev let me borrow his SD780IS and I am impressed with that little camera.

Ben is brand new.

I am a huge iPhone fan, I had the first ("2G") and 3G models the day they released.

I wasn't able to get the 3G[S] model because AT&T had an obscene markup for them when they released to previous iPhone users.

Today I finally decided to upgrade my 3G to the 3GS, off contract so I will be able to get the next generation on the day it is released.

I also bought a new Incase perforated case, which is super dope.

Ben is eating Spam and Kimchi fried rice.

Alana celebrated her 29th birthday at MinSokChon in Kearny Mesa.

12 large bottles of assorted flavors of soju and lots of food (even SILKWORKS) were consumed.

Ben is about the box.

The box that these shoes came in is what convinced me to purchase them.

The details and little intricacies is what keeps me grabbin' the box and shoes to just stare for a while.

The Philippine Eagle that canvases three sides of the box, a quote from the Filipino national anthem and four(!) different colored laces.

Not to mention the MP branded wrapping paper and intricately designed insoles.

All for $110!

I copped like probably every other Filipino shoe collector, but only one pair.

There are three boxes pictured because Jed and Gerald also copped, but I left out their OTHER pairs they purchased that day.

Yeah, I got out hypercopped!

Ben is Bravia.

So I walk in my house today and sitting there next to my stairwell is a still-in-the-box Sony Bravia 46XBR6 1080p 120Hz LCD TV.

There was absolutely nothing wrong with my old Samsung 4100 series 40" LCD, but I'm not hatin' on this one!

Thanks Mom and Dad for the b-day present!

The Hurt Locker is awesome, BTW.
