It's gone. $80 from my checking too.
Replacing those dollars is:
A Canon E0S 10D DSLR camera ($1500 new in 2003), complete with a BG-ED3 Battery Grip, two BP-511 batteries and a 512MB CF card. The camera has less than 15,000 actuations and looks new. Compare the price of an excellent condition 10D on Adorama ($275) and a battery grip ($150 on eBay) and I came up pretty well.
You might be asking yourself, "Ben. WTF dude? Why buy a old ass 10D? Don't you already have a 5D?"
Yes, I do have a 5D. I love it. I bought a 10D for two reasons.
1) To act as a teleconverter. Yes, I was in the market for a 1.4x or 2.0x teleconverter (a teleconverter is a small tube that has an extra glass element that is attached on the back of a lens to increase the magnification of that lens) since the reach of the 70-200mm lens is not as long as I'd like on my 5D. On the 10D the 200mm is actually 320mm (due to the 1.6x magnification of the "crop" sensor in the 10D) which is good enough for what I need it for. BTW a new teleconverter for my 5D is $249. This 10D was $180, the teleconverter can't take pics by itself.
2) To not be as protective. The 5D is an expensive camera. I don't always feel comfortable carrying it around. The 10D with a 50mm F/1.8 lens on it will take great pics and will be less than $250 in all. I will take the 10D to Italy with us, I am not sure if I will take the 5D. I can also give the 10D to Grace so she can take pictures at the same time as I am.
I love Craigslist.
